Planning for events and making bookings

You can make a booking by:

  • calling 01543 418419 and speaking with one of the sales team
  • emailing your requirements to [email protected]
  • booking through our online booking portal, available 24-hours a day.

All bookings should be made at least 24-hours in advance.

Our operating license permits racing from 8am until midnight, seven days a week.

All events must be booked in advance and be confirmed, to ensure adequate and appropriate staffing levels are maintained throughout the event.

We do not offer “arrive-and-drive” sessions.

We are an outdoor circuit – bad weather happens sometimes. 

Motorsport is an all-weather sport, and is often far more enjoyable in the unpredictable wet-and-wild rain that the British climate throws at us!

In wet conditions, we will supply racers with wet-weather race suits. We suggest guests dress appropriately – cool trousers and t-shirts in the summer, with warmer trousers and jumpers in the autumnal and winter months. Hot and cold refreshments, heated and covered spectator areas are also available.

Should your event need to be cancelled, we will contact you to rearrange an appropriate time/date for your session. As per the booking terms and conditions, we do not offer refunds on events affected by inclement weather.

Some circuits may, but we haven’t since mid-2018.

To ensure circuit availability and guarantee enjoyment by all guests, events must be pre-booked at least 24-hours in advance. We may sometimes advertise shorter booking notices via our social media channels, but these are the exceptions rather than the rule.

Your booking includes the cost of protective equipment hire (with the exception of a balaclava). This includes race suit (appropriate to the weather conditions), helmet and protective gloves.

It is recommended drivers wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear for racing – i.e. no stilettos, high heels, flip-flops or sandals.

Drivers are permitted to bring their own protective equipment (e.g. helmet, gloves, boots, suits etc) to events and sessions if they prefer.

Your booking cost includes insurance cover, track time, hire of protective equipment (except balaclava) and go kart hire.

Unless explicitly stated, it does not cover the cost of refreshments or extras. Please discuss this with a member of the sales team.

It has become industry-practice to insist on drivers wearing a balaclava under circuit-owned helmets, for the safety and comfort of all guests.

We are able to provide single-use paper balaclavas or multi-use cotton balaclavas. Both incur a small fee and are not included in the cost of your booking.

At present, due to circuit insurance limitations, we do not allow racers to bring their own go karts to our circuit.

Racers are permitted to bring their own protective equipment (e.g. helmet, gloves, boots, suits etc) to events and sessions.

Our insurance covers drivers aged 8-years and over.

Limitations and restrictions may apply based on circuit usage, kart use and event format. Please speak with one of our sales team for further details.

Karting, and motorsport, can be dangerous despite taking all reasonable precautions.

You should seek professional medical advice prior to racing if you have experienced any of the following conditions:

  • heart conditions
  • abnormal blood pressure
  • back, neck or similar physical conditions or injuries
  • motion sickness or dizziness
  • recent surgery or other conditions that may be aggravated by racing.

Additionally, expectant mothers should not participate. This list is not exhaustive.

We are happy to provide on site facilities for the consumption of alcohol. However, we operate a zero tolerance ban on racing whilst under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.

To be clear, no driver will be permitted to drive on the circuit after consumption of alcoholic drinks

Any individual(s) suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to race. In addition, we reserve the right to request individuals leave the site.

We respectfully remind you that driving whilst under the influence of any alcohol is not recommended and we strongly suggest having an appropriate number of non-drinking/”designated drivers” to meet the demands of your group.

You should be aware that Midland Karting Limited reserves the right to cancel or terminate any booking without warning or notice due to inappropriate behaviour or where management suspect any participant or group member to be under the influence of alcohol or other substance. 

Our staff have the right to go about their work without threat or fear of intimidation and we operate a zero tolerance policy towards threatening, abusive, violent or other inappropriate behaviour. In such circumstances, management reserve the right to eject any person, individual or group.

Finally…

MOTORSPORT CAN BE DANGEROUS.  Despite the organisers taking all reasonable precautions, unavoidable accidents can happen. In respect of this, you are present at your own risk.

All about the venue & facilities

Midland Karting is located on the outskirts of Lichfield, within the Fradley Park industrial estate.

For those with local knowledge, we are near to Curborough sprint circuit – opposite the Tesco retail distribution centre.

Our sales office is open from 10am until 4pm, seven days a week.

We can operate the circuit from 8am until late, seven days a week, subject to booking.

We haven’t offered “arrive-and-drive” sessions since mid-2018. All sessions, whether group or individual, MUST be pre-booked to ensure circuit availability.

Typically, we ask for at least 24-hours notice for bookings – but can sometimes accommodate short notice. Please call us or send us a message on our live chat to discuss your needs.

On-site, we offer:

  • free parking
  • café
  • vending machines
  • heated and covered outdoor seating area
  • indoor seating area
  • conference room and facilities
  • male and female toilets/washrooms

Subject to availability, we can offer hot and cold refreshments in our café. For some parties/events, pre-booking is required to ensure we can cater to demands.

We also have a number of vending machines, supplying snacks and hot or cold drinks.

Unfortunately, we cannot permit the consumption of food/drinks not purchased on site.

We can cater for special requirements, and do so regularly. This includes allergies (e.g. peanuts, shellfish, gluten etc) and intolerances (e.g. dairy).
